My Journey from the Deep Sea to the Digital World
Who I Am
Hi, I'm Matthew Raynor. I spent six years as a deep-sea commercial fisherman, facing the unpredictable power of the ocean. But life took a turn when I suffered a serious spinal cord injury. Instead of giving up, I turned my resilience toward something new—coding.
From learning Python key by key, I became a self-taught web developer, using Django to create projects that matter. Now, my goal is to build a new life outside of the nursing home, launch a career in tech, and inspire others to overcome adversity.
Why I Built This Fundraiser
For the past year and a half, I’ve been in a nursing home that isn’t ideal. I need proper care, independence, and an environment where I can focus on my career.
This fundraiser isn’t just about moving—it's about reclaiming my life and proving that no obstacle is too great with the right mindset and support.
